York County SPCA Hosting Adoption Event
The York County SPCA will be hosting an Adoption Event May 3rd and 4th
The York County SPCA (Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) is dedicated to providing long-term human and animal services to Residents of York County. Founded in 1926 the SPCA is an independent humane organization and other than minimal stray dog fees and some minor governmental funding, the York County SPCA is entirely dependent on the generosity of friends and supporters.
Located at 3159 Susquehanna Trail North, York, PA 17406 the York SPCA will host an Adoption Event.
The event will feature York County SPCA’s Animals with half-price adoption costs!
Adoption rules still apply, but this is one of the best opportunities to find and rescue animals in need. You’ll be required to fill out an adoption application before you’ll be allowed to meet with any adoptable animals.
The York County SPCA is working to have all adoptable animals ready for the event, but some may not be able to leave same the same day.
Adoptions, as always, from the York County SPCA include:
- Vet Exam
- Food Sample
Also on May 3rd is the event, Give Local York, an event that in 2018 made history by raising nearly $1.5 million for over 200 nonprofits in the local area.
The Event, Give Local York, is supported by many companies and organizations across the Susquehanna Valley and, with your support is set to raise record funds for your local nonprofits.
Not Just Dogs and Cats
Yes, the York County SPCA helps dogs and cats in York County but they also help horses, Rabits, Guinea Pigs, Ferrets, Birds, Reptiles, and Many other small and large animals.
The best place to see the animals available for adoption is PetFinder.
Meet Sadie who is part of the TLC 6-pack
I am three years old. I can be timid at first. I lived with young children and cats which I enjoyed chasing. I am not fond of other dogs. I wobble and sometimes fall on walks, so be patient and gentle with me.
Sadie has moderate to severe hip dysplasia in both hips. She will need life long anti-inflammatory medication. It is possible that medication can keep her comfortable but there may come a time when it no longer helps. Surgery options such as total hip replacements could be considered but would be very expensive and there are not guarantees of success.
