Recently Google awarded $80,000 in prizes to 7-year-old winner.

The previous winner Sarah Gomez-Lane is the 10th annual winner of “Doodle 4 Google contest.” Her drawing was featured on the homepage of google. She received $30,000 and $50,000 went to her school.

“The things on my Doodle are my favorite dinosaurs. Dinosaurs inspire me to study more to be a paleontologist,” “The shovel is for my future job!”

Students, homeschooled or otherwise, can enter by using the entry form. Artists create their doodles using any materials they want. Head here for the complete entry instructions.

Doodles will be judged on Artistic merit, creativity, and Theme communication, (how well the contest theme is expressed in both the artwork and the written statement.) Google is looking for entrants to use their imagination to create a Doodle based on what inspires them.

Google has made available Teacher Resources to help children in their class participate in the doodle.
