The Cumberland County police arrested and charged a father for killing his own 5-month-old son. The man is identified as Wesley R. Brunson, 30 years of age.
Just more than two months after his son was found lifeless in his family’s mobile home, the state police charged Brunson with homicide, aggravated assault, child endangerment, and reckless endangerment counts.
During the investigation on the child’s death on March 19, Brunson told an investigator that his son “cried and cried, all he does is cry,”
After 9 pm, Troopers have stormed the home of Brunson’s that is located in the 1500 block of Williams Grove Road. Investigators expressed that the house was in a bad and dirty condition. Brunson told authorities that he had wrapped the baby in a blanket and laid him on a gray elephant Boppy pillow. The suspect said that the baby was a chronic crier, which has already caused discomfort for this two-year-old. Brunson expressed that the baby’s cries were so loud that he would stick his fingers in his ears.
Chandra Brunson, the mother of the child, found the baby no longer breathing upon returning home from work.
Trooper Krista Miller said that Brunson “became emotional and extremely loud” when discussing the baby’s loud cries and the struggle of putting the baby to sleep. The baby was taken to Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center but was taken off of life support and died just less than a day later.
Dr. Wayne Ross, a forensic pathologist, said the death was due to “complications of asphyxia” and was a homicide.
Chandra Bruson said in an interview that she told police that her husband continually complains about the baby’s cries. She would even get texts from him that his son “never shuts up”. She told the troopers that she believes that her husband murdered her baby.
