J. R.’s Fries at Central Market hasn’t been opened for a while. Since March 19th, they had to close down their restaurant due to COVID-19. This is, of course, for the safety of their customers and employees.

This restaurant, located in 34 W Philadelphia St., York, has been a talk of the locals due to their signature fresh-cut French Fries. They also offer a lot of other food selections like Home Made Hamburger BBQ, Pulled Pork BBQ, Chicken Pot Pie, Hamburgers, Hot Dogs, Crab Cakes, Fish and Oyster Sandwiches, Chicken Strips, Hot or Smoke Sausage Sandwiches, Onion Rings, Fried Pickles, Loaded French Fries, Tater Tots and Loaded Tater Tots and the Best Chili/Cheese Fries around, and their Home Made Peanut Butter Fudge.

They also offer more to their customers. So going into their restaurant is always both a treat and a surprise.

Aside from serving great meals to the York area, they have one of the biggest hearts around. They donate a portion of each and their every sale to The York Rescue Mission, The York County SPCA, and The Make-A-Wish Foundation as ways to give back to the community’s great support.

Recently, they have reached out to its followers and loyal customers for support as they hope to reopen their restaurant in June. They needed money to pay their rent, insurance, and so on. If ever these goals are met, they are most likely to open soon.

They recently opened up a Fundraiser on their official Facebook page. As of this writing, they were almost near to their goal. If you have extra to spare, we hope you can help out this local restaurant to start serving good food and fries once more.
